More on Leafletting- some observations

Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
August 9, 2006 LeaflettingI also went with Fred and Jon Gold to leaflet in the small but affluent town of Wayne, Pa. I found some interesting observations associated with our task at hand.

1) People will go out of their way to avoid you if they don't want the leaflet. I saw one couple walking toward us, who actually went the long way to their car, around the parking lot, just so they wouldn't have to take a leaflet.

2) When Jon was asking for interviews, some said "we haven't seen the movie yet" as if the movie would suddenly enlighten them to the truth. I believe some people took a flyer because they thought it was more about the movie or related to the theater and the movie showing.

3) We heard several negative remarks including "OH they are just a bunch of conspiracy theorists!" This wasn't taken personally because I realize there is bound to be negative reactions. The positive reactions, which we also encountered offset the negativity. The most discouraging reaction we got was one of apathy- as if people just wanted to forget about 9/11 like it didn't exist. And they didn't care.

4) I would say that most people did take the flyer. Of course, some refused it, some barely glanced at it (at least when we saw them) and some were intrigued.

I did talk to several people about it and advised where they could explore further, and also encouraged them to email me and join pa 9/11 visibility. I think that in general, even if there is only a small percentage who might actually want to do something about this at least that was more then we had the day before.

I strongly believe that public outreach should be a major focal point for us all right now. We plan to follow up by designing a leaflet to take to downtown Philly and surrounding areas-using the non-violence guidelines of course.

PA911Visibility's First Leafleting Event

Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
August 9, 2006 LeaflettingAugust 13, 2006

Today was the first time I leafleted with the newly organized PA911visibility group.

Wendi Polinow, Jon Gold and I went to the Anthony Wayne theater in Wayne PA to do the 4 PM showing of World Trade Center. It was such a nice day out, that not very many people went to the movies. We did get many of the people that came out of the 1 PM showing and all of the people going to the other movies and the people walking along the very small sidewalks of the small town. I mention small town because we were beginning to see the same people so often that we were actually telling each other that "Oh I got them" when they walked from the other direction.

Jon does a great job with the people. He carries a video camera with him and tries to get everyday people to get their thoughts on camera and then puts them on his Internet bulletin board. He did get a couple of young men to volunteer their time to make a short video. It was a beautiful day so it was slow for a movie so we mostly talked and walked up and down. Jon went up into a cafe to hunt down people.

We stopped shortly after the 4 PM show ticketing was over and went to the Cold Stone Creamery for a bite of ice cream, which Wendi was nice enough to pay for. The three of us discussed future plans for the group as well as what we were going to put into the flyer that we were going to use for our future outreaches.

The War On Terror Is A Fraud!!!

For some excellent research, please see Let's thwart 'the Big One' now, by Jerry Mazza at Online Journal and Chaim Kupferberg: There's Something About Omar: Truth, Lies, and The Legend of 9/11 at GlobalResearch.ca. Ed.

I was arrested Wednesday August 9, at the opening of the Oliver Stone film, WTC in Tampa. It led the FOX 13 news at 6:00 PM and was shown 3 more times including the following morning!

Our cause of 9/11 awareness was treated respectfully in the coverage. Everybody we meet around here seems to have seen it!! See my statement below, given before the civil disobedience challenge.

I am so burned up with this latest terror alert! What a load of baloney! It actually makes more sense to walk into an airport and leaflet than to go to a cinema.

The War On Terror Is A Fraud!!!

I've got my arrest to deal with, who's got the cojones for an action that will hit NATIONAL NEWS TODAY?? Who thinks that is true courage, to go to the airports???

When are we going to look them in the face and say:
'The Emperor Has No Clothes!'
'The War On Terror Is A Fraud!'
'There Were No Arab Hijackers!'

My Arrest Statement August 9, 2006:

August 9, 2006 LeaflettingJust thought I'd pass along some quality reporting on our (and others') activities surrounding the film.
"Fakes on a Plane" by Ed Halter at The Village Voice, August 7th, 2006 10:14 PM

August 9th

Leafletted @ 2 shows in Hawthorne, NJ this evening. Small theatre -100+ leaflets. NO ONE refused to listen and take one. MANY young people 15-25. All were eager for knowledge.

This activity in conjunction wth the emotions of the moviegoers will truly have an impact.

I'll get out for the next few nights - this will be big !

I posted an article about our experiences on August 9th, including a review of the film at IndyBay.org and with links at my website – CommunityCurrency.org. They include great photos of the marquee at the Grand Lake Theater.

*Protests mark opening of 'WTC'*

A 'World Trade Center' protester is arrested outside University Mall in Tampa.

TAMPA - Oliver Stone's new film 'World Trade Center' may well be remembered most for its tribute to the courage and heroism of those who answered the call on September 11th. But it's also turned into a platform for protest.

"We are using leaflets to alert the public about the discrepancies between real science and physics and the fictional account that the public has been spoon-fed about the events of 9/11," explained Mia Hamel of 911courage.org.

We got there early only to realize we had left the leaflets behind. My support person, C.T. Butler, had to drive home to get them. I met him in the late 70's during a guerrilla theater action where I played Santa Claus. CT is the co founder of Food Not Bombs.

I had visited the theater manager and gave him a ‘Deception Dollar’, a DVD of Stephen Jones at UVSC and a Mugford DVD. He said the property manager would be the one to call the police. I called the property manager that morning just to make sure they knew that if they arrested me I'd be absolutely polite to everyone. I also called the police an hour before the action.

Leafletting in Mohegan Lake, NY

Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
August 9, 2006 Leafletting

I leafletted at an eleven theater multiplex on Wednesday. I was at the first show of the day at 1:30pm. Only about 3 dozen people went into the theaters, but I still handed out about 60 flyers as about 2/3 of passerbys took them. I have noticed this for a while now. Many people know or feel that somehow these issues are important. They are willing and eager to learn from responsible organizations that have done or distribute the results of _independent_ research and ways to find out more.

Bill Fornaci reports similar results. Mia got arrested. And David received a good bit of media attention. Detailed reports on Thursday. Feel free to post a story of your experience(s) by choosing the "Contribute" button above.
